Initial client conversations are typically by phone or a casual get together over coffee. We will discuss your business, vision and goals for your project, as well as your budget and timeline expectations. Please feel free to ask any questions at this time. If you have examples of design ideas you like, please feel free to share them via online links, printed tear sheets, Pinterest boards, etc..
Project Estimate and Schedule
After our chat I will put together a project outline which includes a timeline and pricing estimates. This is typically delivered via email. If all is agreeable, you will sign the proposal and keep a copy for yourself. In some cases a deposit is required. The schedule we create will help keep us on track to launch your entire project on time.
Inspiration - Colors, Styling, Logo Design
The design process starts with putting together a color palette and layout ideas to make sure I am heading in the right direction to meet your goals. Design concepts are presented through an online private link. Once a design is approved, you will receive variations to review and are given the chance to make adjustments to make sure you love it.
Carrying Your Brand Through Print and Beyond
Once the color palette and logo design are complete, your brand will be ready for print on such items as business cards, postcards, and stationery. Delivery time for these items is typically 2 weeks, and I will handle all pre-press, ordering, and final delivery. Larger print items such as brochures, postcards, even specialty items and gifts can be ordered with your brand.
Websites and Social Media
Once your brand style has been established, you may be ready to expand your marketing with a new or updated website. To get started we will review the content of the site, discuss organization and the number of pages, your target audience, and functionality of the site such as forms, shopping links, etc..
I will build initial layouts for the home page, which will be delivered to you via a private online link. We will discuss the ideas and make any adjustments to the design that you feel best reflects your goals. Once a design concept is approved, I will move on to finalizing all of the elements. At each step of the process, you will receive a private link to view the work in progress. You may have some homework to do here, in the form of providing content or photography for the site.
The testing process for your site will include several website browsers, iPad, iPhone and Android phones, to be sure the site is running properly across all platforms. Once the design has been finalized and tested, the website will launch and your site will be up and running!
Typical website development time is 2-5 weeks, depending on your feedback and complexity of the site. Since the website is such an important piece of your marketing I want to make sure you absolutely love i! Please feel free to ask any questions during the process.
